I haven't seen a compendium on the Madness DPS tree for Sin/Shadow. I realize there are ones for Deception and Darkness. Is anyone planning on making one?
I've tried to use the Sorc Madness Compendium, think that since madness is the shared tree, I could use it as a base. However, I never noticed until today, that the SHARED tree between the two specs are actually not really shared. They are two different trees that have alot of the same abilities.
I've had a few people approach me about creating one, but no one has actually gone through with it yet.
I've been lurking here for the past month or so waiting for someone else to start one. I simply don't have the time to really try to crunch numbers without the ease of a combat log and ACT, but rest assured once the CL shows up I'll set aside some time to throwing some spreadsheets together and I'm sure I won't be the only one!
Btw - this is my first post here on the boards, and hopefully the first of many!

After, playing with Inf (Dec), I have decided to go back to Bal(Mad). I agree, without combat logs and tools to record performance, it is really hard to build a number crunching database to create and accurate compendium. Alas, I do not have time and wish I could do it by good ole napkin notes, but I can't
To the OP, Ya we need one bad. Mad seems to be the PvE spec for sure. (Though I like the big numbers of deception)
Because of that, I am sure someone is bound to make something...

I'm in the same boat. Madness is a spec built around DoTs and if my years of MMO experience has taught me anything (read: very little) its that DoT specs generally pull ahead in the long game. With that said, I would love it if both specs are viable options for PvE endgame. For the time being, I am sticking with my madness spec simply because it has more utility along with the fact that having a 30 yard DoT with 2 second snare in PvP is win!

I'd like to know this too. I am a 46 Sith Assassin, (currently tanking for leveling) but my guild has tanks and healers and wants me as a dps. What spec should I be shooting for dps?
I know nothing about dpsing with an assassin since I have been a tank from the beginning. Any dps guide would be appreciated.
We need someone to step up and actually make a guide for there to be one. Plenty of people wanting to benefit from the guide, not many wanting to actually write it...
Recently, there has been three tooltip changes (Harnessed Darkness, Raze, Induction) but the abilities still work as they have before, and there have been no patchnotes. I am not sure if Bioware is trying to nerf hybrid spec for Sins or they have poor QA.

I wish we had at least some recognition from BW on the issue, whether they'll revert them to prior wording, or patch in the functionality as the new wording states (with, hopefully, relevant patch notes.)

Looking at the PTS Patch Notes for 1.1.2 (
http://www.swtor.com/community/showthrea...it2419221) looks they are going through with these changes.
So, in summary:
- Raze will require Lightning Charge Discharge effect be on the target to proc.
- Induction now requires Surging Charge to be active (nerfing hybrid builds)
- Discharge CD reduction now requires Lightning Charge be active.
- Death Field healing changes mentioned elsewhere.
(that's just the Madness stuff)
