Anonymous industry insiders have revealed that ZeniMax Online Studios and Bethesda will officially announce Elder Scrolls Online, an upcoming MMO set in the Elder Scrolls universe sometime in May, likely followed by some E3 2012 and Quakecon 2012 presence.

The  Elder Scrolls MMO will take place a full millennium before Skyrim (Elder Scrolls V), likely during the Second Era, a period well before any current Elder Scrolls games. There will be three playable factions, each represented by an animal (lion, dragon, and a bird of prey).

ZeniMax Online Studios was founded by a former Dark Age of Camelot producer (Matt Firor) and has being posting job positions related to a MMO. It was not known previously if the MMO would be set in the Elder Scrolls, Fallout or an entirely new universe.
