I. Profession overview

As with other carryover professions from the original Guild Wars, the Warrior shares many similarities with its predecessor, able to become offensive juggernauts and apply high damage strikes to foes. Warriors also have support capabilities with shouts and debuffs that can aid their allies and demoralize the opponent.

II. Archetype

The Warrior is a melee DPS class, and is part of the soldier category, wearing heavy armor.

a. Unique ability

The Warrior has an adrenaline bar that will charge every time they attack. There are three levels of adrenaline that can be stored, and each weapon will have a burst weapon skill that will use stored up adrenaline to unleash a potentially devastating attack. Higher levels of adrenaline storage will increase the damage or benefit of the burst skill.

b. Unique stat

Brawn is the unique stat for the Warrior. It increases the damage or benefit of their burst skills.

III. Weapons and skills

Below is a list of weapons the Warrior will use.
  • Two-handed
    • Hammer — pounds the ground with area-of-effect attacks that can stagger
    • Greatsword — sweeping area-of-effect attacks while being able to move quickly between groups of enemies.
    • Longbow — massive fire AoE damage used to keep hordes of enemies at bay.
    • Rifle — inflict various conditions and unleash powerful attacks against a single target.
  • One-handed
    • Axe — can quickly build up adrenaline and can deliver powerful high damage attacks.
    • Sword — quick and mobile, with many opportunities to cause bleeding.
    • Mace — has powerful stunning attacks, leaving enemies susceptible to further blows.
  • Off-hand
    • Shield — used to bash foes or block incoming attacks.
    • Warhorn — grants boons to allies.
    • Axe — can be used to strike with both weapons simultaneously or charge with a whirling attack.
    • Sword — used as a crippling attack or to block and retalitate.
    • Mace — the warrior can perform a stunnning attack against a single target or harm all foes in front of him by slamming the mace on the ground.
  • Aquatic
    • Harpoon Gun — long range mechanical weapon.
    • Spear — close quarters melee weapon.

Below is a list of skills tied to each weapon. Note that a two-handed weapon grants five skills (1-5 on the skill bar), a one-handed weapon grants three skills (1-3 on the skill bar), and off-handed weapons grant two skills (4 and 5 on the skill bar)

Greatsword
  • Burst skill* Arcing Slice 10 Strike your foe with an uppercut that grants might.
  • Greatsword Swing 0 Slash your foe.
  • Greatsword Slice 0 Strike your foe again.
  • Brutal Strike 0 Strike your foe to inflict vulnerability.
  • Hundred Blades 6 Repeatedly strike multiple foes.
  • Whirlwind Attack 12 Whirl in a target's direction, slashing foes along your path
  • Bladetrail 20 Throw your greatsword at your foe. It travels to your target and returns to you, crippling foes along its path.
  • Rush 20 Charge your foe.

Hammer
  • Burst skill* Earthshaker 10 Jump to the targeted location and slam your hammer down, damaging and stunning foes.
  • Hammer Swing 0 Bash your foe.
  • -Unknown second chained attack for the Hammer
  • -Unknown third chained attack for the Hammer
  • Fierce Blow 12 Weaken your foe with a fierce blow.
  • Hammer Shock 12 Smash the ground and send out a crippling wave.
  • Staggering Blow 20 Push back nearby foes with a staggering blow.
  • Backbreaker 25 Knock down your target foe.

Longbow
  • Burst skill* Combustive Shot 20 Ignite target area, burning nearby foes. Effect increases with adrenaline level.
  • Dual Shot 0 Shoot a pair of arrows at your foe.
  • Incendiary Shot 10 Shoot an arrow that explodes on impact, burning your foe and damaging those in the blast area.
  • Fan of Fire 10 Fire a spread of three flaming arrows, burning foes.
  • Arcing Arrow 10 Shoot a slow, arcing arrow that explodes on impact.
  • Pin Down 25 Fire an arrow that immobilizes the target foe.

Rifle
  • Burst skill* Kill Shot 10 Fire a powerful shot. Damage increases with adrenaline level.
  • Bleeding Shot 0 Fire a shot that bleeds your target
  • Aimed Shot 10 Fire a precise shot that cripples your foe.
  • Volley 10 Fire a volley of shots at your foe.
  • Brutal Shot 15 Shoot your foe and make them vulnerable.
  • Rifle Butt 20 Push your foe back with your rifle butt.

Axe
  • Burst skill* Eviscerate 10 Leap at your foe with a devastating attack. Effect increases with adrenaline level.
  • Chop Chop your foe.
  • Double Chop Chop twice at your foe.
  • Triple Chop Chop three times at your foe.
  • Cyclone Axe 6 Spin around and attack all nearby foes.
  • Throw Axe 10 Throw an axe that cripples enemies

Mace
  • Burst skill* Skull Crack 10 Stun your foe with a skull crack. Effect increases with adrenaline level.
  • Mace Smash Smash your foe.
  • Mace Bash Bash your foe.
  • Pulverize Pulverize your foe, leaving them weakened.
  • Counter Blow 10 Block the next attack. Counter with an attack if you are in melee range. Gain adrenaline if not attacked.(Knockdown: 2 seconds)
  • Pommel Bash 15 Daze your foe with a brutal pommel bash. (Daze: 1 second)

Sword
  • Burst skill* Flurry 10 Immobilize your foes with a flurry of strikes. Effect increases with adrenaline level.
  • Sever Artery Bleed your foe with a slash.
  • Gash Bleed your foe with a gash.
  • Final Thrust Strike your foe with a powerful thrust.
  • Savage Leap 8 Lunge at your foe, striking them with your sword.
  • Hamstring 15 Cripple your foe with a precise slash. Cripple last 9 seconds

Axe (offhand)
  • Dual Strike 12 Strike your foe with both axes. Gain fury with each hit.
  • Whirling Axe 20 Spin and attack nearby foes. You can move while spinning.

Mace (offhand)
  • Crushing Blow 15 Crush your opponent's armor, leaving them vulnerable. (Vulnerability: 10 seconds)
  • Tremor 20 Send a crippling wave toward your foe.

Shield
  • Shield Bash 25 Bash your foe with your shield and stun them.
  • Shield Stance 25 Block incoming attacks.

Warhorn
  • Charge 20 Grant swiftness to yourself and allies, while removing chill, cripple, and immobilize.
  • Call to Arms 20 Grant vigor to yourself and allies, while weakening nearby foes.

Harpoon Gun
  • Burst skill* Forceful Shot 30 Shoot at your foe doing more damage the more adrenaline you have.
  • Mariner's Shot 0 Shoot your foe from long range. The farther the shot goes, the more damage it does.
  • Brutal Shot 3 Make your foe vulnerable with a shot to their vitals.
  • Split Shot 8 Your shot splits into a spread of harpoons that each bleed your target.
  • Knot Shot 25 Fire a shot that immobilizes your foe.
  • Repeating Shot 25 Fire multiple shots that push back your foe.

Spear
  • Burst skill* Tsunami Rush 30 Spin forward and attack foes along the way. Effect increases with adrenaline level.
  • Stab Stab your foe.
  • Mariner's Frenzy 8 Attack foes in front of you with a series of strikes.
  • Harpoon Pull 15 Pull your foe to you.
  • Parry 15 Block your foe. Counterattack with a powerful strike. Gain adrenaline if you are not attacked.
  • Tsunami Slash 25 Spin forward and strike foes along the way.

IV. Traits

The Warrior has five trait lines to choose from; Strength, Arms, Defense, Tactics, and Discipline. Below is a list of each trait and the benefits they grant.

Strength Traits

Strength per point:
+10 Power
+1 Expertise

Minor
Adept Reckless Dodge Damage foes at the end of a dodge roll.
Master Death From Above Damage and knock back enemies when you take falling damage.
Grandmaster Building Momentum Using a burst skill restores endurance.

Major
Axe Mastery 5% damage while wielding an axe.
Berserker's Power 2-5% damage based on how much adrenaline you have built.
Physical Mastery Recharge on physical utility skills is reduced by 20%.
Physical Training Physical utility skills deal more damage.
Powerful Banners Your banners do damage when summoned.
Slashing Power Increased greatsword and spear damage.
Tidal Spear Gain swiftness on crits with a spear.
Weapon Specialization +5% damage while wielding an axe, mace or sword in your offhand.

Arms Traits

Arms per point:
+10 Precision
+10 Malice

Minor
Adept Precise Strikes 33% chance to cause bleeding on crit.
Master Critical Burst Burst skills have an increased crit chance.
Grandmaster Rending Strikes 33% chance to cause vulnerability on crit.

Major
Attack of Opportunity Deal extra damage to a bleeding foe.
Blademaster Increased crit chance with sword.
Deep Cuts Bleeds you apply last 50% longer.
Last Chance Gain Frenzy at 25% health; only activates once every 90 seconds.
Marksman Increased damage with harpoon gun or rifle.
Sniper Rifle shots penetrate.
Sundering Greatsword Cause vulnerability on crit with a greatsword.
Unsuspecting Foe 50% crit chance versus stunned enemies.

Defense Traits

Defense per point:
+10 Toughness
+10 Compassion

Minor
Adept Vigorous Return Increased health on rally.
Master Embrace the Pain Gain adrenaline when hit.
Grandmaster Armored Attack 10% of toughness is converted to power.

Major
Adrenal Health Regenerate health based on adrenaline level.
Blunt Weapon Master 15% reduced cooldown with hammer and mace skills.
Cull the Weak Increased damage to weakened foes.
Last Stand Gain stability when health hits 25%.
Merciless Hammer Improved hammer critical chance when foe is knocked down.
Missile Deflection Reflect missiles whenever you are blocking.
Shield Master Increased armor while using a shield.
Shrug it Off Endure Pain at 25% health.
Sundering Mace Chance to cause weakness on crit with a mace.
Sure-footed Increased stance duration.
Thick Skin Extra armor when health is above 90%.
Turtle's Defense Gain armor bonus when crippled, stunned, immobilized or frozen.


Tactics Traits

Tactics per point:
+10 Vitality
+1 Concentration

Minor
Adept Determined Revival Gain extra armor while reviving.
Master Fast Healer Increased revive speed.
Grandmaster Empower Allies Nearby allies do extra damage.

Major
Burning Arrows Deal extra damage with a longbow against burning foes.
Desperate Power Do extra damage when health is under 25%.
Empowered Gain extra damage for every boon on you.
Inspiring Banners Banners apply buffs to a larger area.
Inspiring Shouts Gain adrenaline when using a shout.
Leg Specialist Crippling a target with a skill immobilizes the target for 1 second.
Lung Capacity 20% faster shout cooldown.
Quick Breathing 15% faster warhorn cooldown.
Stronger Bowstrings Increased longbow range.
Vigorous Shouts Shouts heal.

Discipline Traits

Discipline per point:
+1 Prowess
+1 Brawn

Minor
Adept Versatile Rage Gain adrenaline when swapping weapons
Master Fast Hands Reduce weapon swap cool down
Grandmaster Versatile Power Gain the Might boon when swapping weapons.

Major
Adrenal Reserves Reduced burst-skill adrenaline cost
Heightened Focus Improved critical chance for each full level of adrenaline
Mobile Strikes Movement skills break out of the Immobilize condition
Quick Bursts Reduced burst-skill recharge time
Sharpened Axes Gain adrenaline when inflicting a critical hit with an axe skill
Signet Mastery Signets recharge 25% faster.
Sweet Revenge Chance to rally whenever killing an enemy while under the effects of Vengeance
Thrill of the Kill Gain adrenaline whenever killing an enemy
Warrior's Sprint Increased movement speed while wielding a melee weapon
